Christantus Uche Ignites Dominant Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a chance for several Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second game in succession.

A Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season were no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee problems.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
